Box Office: ‘Daddy’s Home 2’ Eyes Huge Fourth Weekend on Thanksgiving

As families go all out for turkey, trimmings and beers, one thing is sure — box office is going to be crazy.

Thanksgiving weekend is expected to break records, with Box Office Mojo predicting a final haul of more than $180 million over four days.

On Monday, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” was expected to top the weekend ahead of “Daddy’s Home 2” and have a $72 million fourth-weekend gross.

“Daddy’s Home 2” finished first after debuting with $49 million last weekend, placing second for the weekend behind “Jumanji,” which is expected to finish with a $50 million fourth weekend.

It is unknown which other movies will be in the running to win over the box office over the weekend.

Produced by his son Dan and his longtime friends Bob and Harvey Weinstein, “Paddington 2” has so far earned $37.3 million since its opening on Nov. 10.

And Disney’s new animated film “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” has topped its Halloween opening, earning $14.1 million as of Monday night.
