Novak Djokovic will become the first man to win all four majors in a single season for eight years if he wins the China Open final against Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut.

Djokovic, who also won the US Open and Wimbledon, recorded a 6-4 6-3 win over Borna Coric in Beijing.

He has looked back to his best since his semi-final exit at the French Open.

“I’ve been playing great tennis and I’ve been satisfied and happy with every moment of my season,” said the Serb.

“The last couple of weeks, my game’s been hitting the peak. Every grand slam has shown me that my game and level of play is at that top level.

“I think this record is a great way to end 2017 and to start 2018. I want to reach this record, I really do. I want to secure the number one ranking in the world as well.

“So these milestones are important for me and they motivate me even more.”
